Confessions of a 20-year-old exjournalist who talks too much, laughs too loudly and is eccentric too much for her own good. She is currently reading Law at the University of Warwick, but still spends all her time spilling too many secrets on her blog. Whether they are true, exaggerated or fictitious, its up to you to decide. It could ALL be a pack of lies. Or not. The real girl (and secrets) shall remain elusive. Whatever it is, don't forget to bring along your pinch of salt.
Samanthaeng.blogspot was set up on 31st December 2007 in an attempt to move away from the air-headed musings of the writer's earlier journal. It started out as pretty pink journal like this one- which the writer quickly got bored of- went on to become a dull grey journal, and is now back to looking girlishly pink.
As you can see, the writer is highly fickle, volatile and undecisive. Which makes a lot of sense, since the original purpose of this journal (to spread the writer's ingenious musings to the world at large) has been squashed and replaced by a day-by-day account of a struggling student trying to become the next Legally Blonde 3. Whoever said self-centeredness wasn't a sexy trait?

wishes
I'm heading out now to celebrate the last day of the year. Just in case I don't get back before twelve midnight (which I most probably wouldn't), here's wishing my dear blog a spanking happy birthday.
![]() And here's wishing everyone a happy 2009. Goodbye 2008. It was fun while it lasted. But now; It's time to bring 2009 in with a bang. Labels: birthday wishes

day four: boxing day sales
Boxing day sales is London is just crazy. Hordes and hordes of people flooding oxford street, queueing up outside big brands such as River Island and Zara, thrashing places and flinging clothes all around, trying clothes on in random parts of the shop because the dressing rooms are either closed or the wait is too long... Honestly if you thought GSS was bad, you really gotta look at this. Whoever said that Singaporeans are kiasu!
Anyway I have to admit the sales are pretty good. Half-price for most of the stuff, so it's little wonder that people splurge on this post-christmas day. ![]() Most people wake up early on Boxing Day to queue up outside stores before they open. Unfortunately, I overslept (yes, despite shengjun's 6am call?!!) and got to Oxford Street at about 11am. By then, the place was thrashed, normal sizes were all gone, and shopping was a real chore (picking around pieces to find sizes that is). Maybe we should all strive to get fat before the next boxing day. Now all the sizes left in stores are L, XL and XXL! Didn't buy anything at all on boxing day (such a waste of time and effort, I swear) except some chocolate for my neighbours who came from Singapore. The only accomplishment of the day was going to Misato (successfully!) for lunch and it was good. Huge-ass portions which made me too tired to chew. London is nice and all, but still, I really want to go back to my home away from home... Met up with my neighbours from Singapore for dinner. We went to Four Seasons for duck! (yes, I am unwittingly trying out all the famous food places) Received my package from my mum :D For some reason or another, I ended up at Misato again after dinner to watch wenjie and sheng wolf down their 4-portion meal. Hahaha the staff at Misato must think I'm a huge fan (: Visited sheng's hall after that, it was quite an eye-opener to see what London halls are like. They seem very rootes-ish. Lines of rooms, dorm-style. And warwick people, we should stop complaining that our rooms are small. They're pretty okay-sized in comparison, really. The two boys bought loads of stuff on boxing day (I'm really jealous actually!) and started showing them off. HAHAHA. Crazy. Okay this is starting to sound like a wham-wham-wham daily doings of Samantha Eng series of blogposts. I think holiday posts are usually like that. Bear with me! Will be back in Warwick before you know it (: Oh just fyi, it is Day 8 right now and I'm all alone at home and extremely happy for the alone-time(: Goodbye. Labels: daily doings, outing

day three: merry christmas to you
Christmas was actually quite a bore. Woke up late (after the crazy Christmas eve we had), went out for lunch, came back and blogged and lazed around. Haha the difference between London and Singapore is that, in Singapore everything's open and normal on Christmas day. Here, everything's closed and quiet. Not my idea of Christmas. Where are the jingle bells?
And no, it was not a white christmas. Stop telling me to enjoy the snow guys! Here are some pictures from lunch that day. The mussels were really, really good. ![]() I'm off to shower now. Ciao. Labels: daily doings, food

Day two point five: Christmas Eve Party
Because I am anal and have nothing more important (property law, be gone!) to store in my head, I remember how I've spent each of my last few Christmas eves.
Three years ago, I brought my cousin out to Orchard Road to join in the humongous crowds and become one of the pesky people spraying foam at people and contributing to air pollution. Two years ago, I brought my cousin out to Orchard again, but this time with seniors Michelle, Kelvin and Marcus. The spraying foam activity was banned that year (much to our disappointment), but we still joined the humongous crowds in umm, trawling along orchard road. I remember crashing at Celeste's place past midnight before rushing for the last train (and missing it). It was really quite exciting. Last year, I brought my cousin out (again!) but not to orchard road. We went ice-skating, because it was the closest we could get to a white Christmas. It was the first time in my life giving my handphone number out to a strange boy. Why? Because he was 10-years-old and my experience had never taught me how to deal with young boys like this. On Christmas too. Haha methinks he has too little contacts and wanted to beef it up. This year, my expectations weren't high after such interesting Christmas eves. After all, it was cold, dreary london and unless it snowed, there can't be much excitment, right? Wrong. Christmas eve was a quite a riot! Headed down to nic(lee)'s house for a mini Christmas party with a small bunch of people. Cooked a feast, but since you readers weren't there to savour it, feast your eyes instead (: ![]() We had pasta, herbal chicken, cheesed salmon, vegetables and mashed potatoes for dinner(: And this is shengjun extremely excited at the fact that he was opening a bottle of champange! ![]() a toast to...... ![]() And THIS was the reason why my camera had 238 photos of that day. The Aww wenjie, don't look so sad ![]() You're eating his balls! This is a nice normal shot for once (: ![]() Acting spastic Don't you think wj looks so pretty here! Champange was soon followed by a bottle of Bailey's. Then eggtarts and Gu brownies with ice-cream. It must have been the alcohol and sugar combined, but for some reason or other, shengjun and I started making movements for every single song (we requested for cheesy ones) mambo-style. Hahaha I thought we did it really brilliantly too. But that's expected, after all, we lawyers are a cut above the rest (cue a scissors movement, palm going up movement, and throws hand out to signal everyone). Silly pictures taken of us as we, uh, enjoyed ourselves. ![]() and amused the rest... ![]() I am ashamed to say that we were so entertaining and amusing that all of us MISSED christmas. We only realised it at fifteen minutes past twelve where we stubbornly did a countdown anyway! haha, so there! And the next four pictures of shengjun amused me to no end. I was shouting words along the lines of angles baby, give me angles. Yes pose, smile. Give me some attitude. That's right! While he, the compliant model, did... well, you can see what he did in the below pictures. ![]() ![]() And this was the trio who came down from Warwick with our lovely eggtarts (: Sj and I are taking horrible advantage of wj's lap. We are probably the sort who jump in glee if the sign on the tube in my previous post (Peak hours may neccessitate that you let others sit on your lap) was true. Ha ha ha. ![]() And finally, this was everybody I spent Christmas Eve with (: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE (: ![]() ps. Thank you theBoy for the christmas email, haha it barely says anything yet it's so sweet and true. YOU ARE MISSED TOO. Meet up in summer! Labels: food, outing, photos, thank-yous
day two: ice-skating in winter wonderland
Day two in London (Christmas eve) was an extremely eventful and pictureful day. Yes, if you read my plurk I had to upload 238 pictures into my laptop for that day alone (a large number of them were thanks to shengjun's camwhorage, I reckon). To make things easier for everybody, I've decided to split the winter wonderland and Christmas dinner events into two posts. Enjoy (:
Headed down to London's German Christmas market at Hyde Park. It's dubbed Winter Wonderland for good reason, because the place really felt like a wonderland as you walk through it. Pretty stalls by the sides, glowing blue lighting and the occasional bout of fake snow falling from the roof of stalls. Really pretty (: Went past Harrods on the way to Hyde Park and wow, it looked stunning. ![]() Winter Wonderland (: ![]() me and keegs with santa! lunch was really interesting. I wanted something authentic and german-ish at a german market, so we zoomed straight to Bratwurst stall. Look at the yummy sausages (: ![]() Ended up trying curry wurst and skewered meat. It was gooood. ![]() YUM YUM, busy eating till we forgot to smile ![]() The skewered meat tasted really good, even though it was a bitch to chew/eat glamly. German Christmas Market! ![]() Some of the pretty stalls.. ![]() CANDY! :D Another carousel ride (: ![]() We decided to get a mug of mulled wine to warm ourselves up. Wow, the mulled wine was amazing! ![]() Not that it tasted amazing, it tastes like just any alcohol- warmed up. But you can feel the liquid trickling down your throat, gullet and finally into your stomach. Until you get a nice, warm toasty feeling in the pit of your stomach. I like! (: After walking around, we went ice-skating in the rink inside the Christmas Market. The rink is awfully crowded and apparently you have to book tickets real early, otherwise you can't get a slot. Anyway, a really funny story occurred at the entrance of the rink. Basically, cm received the wrong skating tickets (three children tickets), so he was trying to explain the tickets to the doorman. The doorman took one look at the tickets and one look at us, and said: You two (pointing towards keegan and me) can go in. You (pointing towards cm) need an adult ticket. HAHAHA. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Was that a compliment? Okay let's just say when I'm old next time, I will be glad to be blessed with the look-young gene (: Hahaha keegan kept falling down on the slippery ice. To be honest, the skates/ice here in the UK isnt as good as the ones in Singapore. In Singapore, the skates are equipped such that they do not slide sideways, but over here it is not. As a result, you can't put all your weight on it and race from one end of the rink to the other. But I enjoyed myself ice-skating backwards again (: Enjoyed the whole ice-skating experience. Can't wait to return to Singapore and skate properly (: Christmas Eve, day two-and-a-half coming soon! Stay tuned. Labels: daily doings, food, outing, photos

day one: glam twins take on london!
The original plan was to come up with a How to survive London guide- glam twin style- but the glam twins were too preoccupied with being all cultured and glamorous (we went museum-hopping) to concern our glam little heads with such fabulous guides. Nevertheless, you still get a blog post to have a sneak peek into our glamourous lives. Enjoy(:
Arrived at London's Victoria Coach station at half past twelve and the dear glam twin chang came to pick me up. Meeting up felt good, it was as if no time had past since we last met. The usual banter, gossip, camaraderie and not to mention, glamness, were still all there. The only thing missing was us bursting into mass dance movements in the middle of nowhere. After all, we are the glam twins. Glam Twins don't do things like that outside of school and in the big bustling city of London. First up, we took the tube to Piccadilly Circus to try the chinese restaurant Cha Cha Moon that every londoner keeps raving about. And this was what we saw along the tube: Haha I'm not kidding. At first we actually believed it and thought how very strange London was (adding it to our list of Things we don't like about London) and contemplated taking the tube during peak hours and asking complete strangers if we could sit on their laps. But our glamness caught up with us and we decided to discreetly look for the sign each time we took the tube that day. The sign never popped up again. Guess it was someone's idea of a very ingenious prank. We like. It's got the glam stamp (: Anyway, headed down to Cha Cha Moon for lunch! There was a queue outside which vouched for the nice gastronomical delight that was to come. lively, noisy ambience inside the place ![]() The good thing about the place was that the food was cheap (you can have a plate of noodles for just 3.50pounds), the ambience was lively without being annoyingly jarring, the service was fast, and it was amusing to see brits serving food in a Chinese restaurant. Guess the business at the place must be really good. First up, we had lovely milk tea. Yes yes, nai cha :D I was literally swooning I tell you. Oh if only it could have been bubble tea that would be even perfect! ![]() I had Zha Jiang Mian (thanks to all the Crystal Jade fantasies) and although the portion was small, it was only 3.50pounds so no complaints! The taste was not bad too (: ![]() Glam Twin Chang had beef noodles And this dish was just simply heavenly. Wanton in vinegar and chilli oil. Cue multiple swoons. Thank you Glam Twin chang for the great choice (: ![]() And we had guo tie too! Ditto the wanton reaction. Each dumpling was filled with nice, hot juice inside it. It can even give Crystal Jade a run for its money! So lunch was completely fantastic and I would so go back to the restaurant again some day. The rest of the day just got better. The Glam Twins decided to tour the various museums in London to prove to all the detractors that yes we are cultured, no we are not airheaded bimbos and yes, we do things like museum-hopping glamorously. First up was the Natural History Museum (: Took this shot of the Glam Twin on the way there. This museum was by far the best museum we went that day. We enjoyed ourselves a lot and went to every area except the green and orange ones. Why? Because we are already green and orange personified (: Up the Stairway to Heaven ![]() proof that we were, truly, at the museum (: Then we went to the V&A. ![]() And finally to the Science museum, where we didn't take any pictures because the building wasn't too pretty. But we had fun playing the interactive games that tested our science/general knowledge. The Glam Twin is awfully tyco. Lucky lucky. Then we headed down to take a look at the Royal Albert Hall, before heading to South Bank (the Golden Jubilee bridges) to catch the pretty sights of River Thames and the London Eye. The bridge (which we swore was swaying and shaking slightly on our way back) ![]() River Thames Ended up rushing down all the way to Leicester Square because we wanted to eat at this other often-raved-about japanese food place called Misato. But the queue was horribly long and after a while we gave up, because I had a musical to catch in less than an hour's time. Ended up running all the to Pizza Hut to grab dinner, but packed the pizza in a box because time was running out. Sorry han we couldn't have a nice relaxing dinner! Next time, I promise! We go Misato! (: Ended up LATE for the musical, Les Miserables. Sorry keegs and cm that we had to wait till the first scene was over before entering the theatre. But the musical was good (: Enjoyed it (despite being awfully tired) and the little girl who played Cosette was simply adorable (: ![]() That pretty much summed up the Glam Twins meet-up in London. No celine, we did not bring terror down here (after all, we didn't break out into a mass dance in the middle of the road). It was lovely meeting up with you han (: Meet up soon ok! Come to warwick (: Yours in Glamness, Labels: daily doings, food, outing, photos
day zero: the day before we went down to london
Haven't been blogging for quite a while because life has been messy, complicated, yet busy and eventful all rolled into one. I'm currently blogging from the land of dreary grey weather and people in black coats and umbrellas (yes, London!) and shall attempt to do a day-by-day post of the past couple of days. Bear with the verbal diarrhoea if you please(:
First of all, thank you pengkun for the parcel I received on monday! Haha I love the card and the pretty keyring with pink glittery tiara and trinkets. Love you girl! And the card is so cool, look the card's picture can change like this: Outdoor christmas tree, pull down the tab and you get...
an indoor christmas tree!
The rest of the day was spent going to Time for Tea with shengjun to meet up with josephine to talk lawyerly stuff (and wenjie the economist came along to be excluded from all our property law talk). But alas, after the long journey and trek there early in the morning (we wanted to get the first scones), this was what we got! Yes, Time for Tea is closed on mondays. Gah. As you can imagine, we were all so disappointed, especially sj and josephine because they have never been there. But at least the trip there and back was picturesque (: Ended up at Noodle Bar in Coventry (which made up for the loss of scones, yum). But thanks to the unplanned trip to coventry, my plans to head back after breakfast to hit my books went down the drain. Ended up shopping at Ikea with wj and sj who wanted stuff for their rooms. Got a comfy bedroom slipper and a vanilla candle. Oh boy, I hope I don't start setting off any fire alarms. They are such a chore. Night time was spent making egg tarts to bring to London! Haha presenting to you, the two eggtart bakers! :D
DONE! normal egg tarts!
DONE! mega egg
And we got josephine to come down to be our very first eggtart taster (: Look at her happy happy expression!
EGG TART PROS!
All done without the eggtart prince (: We deserve a pat on the back guys! ![]() Okay that was it for the eve of london departure. I am proud of our eggtart making abilities (: (:

we've got yellow eggtarts, have you?
So the last couple of days have been spent rather fabulously (in other words, it's been all play and no work). shengjun, better known as wenjie's twin/lookalike, is visiting from london so there's one extra human at whitefields apart from the usual trio. As the saying goes, the more the merrier (: The four of us spent the entire afternoon playing badminton doubles (for full score/pairings, refer to keegan's very detailed blog post). The competition got intense for a moment when it was the two lawyers versus the economist and the mathmatician. All sparked off by Keegan's "You lawyers talk too much". Then again, we kept threatening to sue them so, fair's fair. It was a rather hilarious sparring, in both senses of the word (: I've also been receiving happy surprises over the past two days. Got a package this morning, but the post room is closed so I won't be able to get it till monday. The suspense is killing me, but my gut feel tells me it is the christmas package my parents sent(: Oh and yesterday I got a letter and a card fromy my beloved dajie as well. Thank you michelle! (: Dinner last night was one of the best dinners at wf8 ever. In fact, it almost makes up for the fact that we didn't return to Singapore. It started off with: 1)Prata with curry for appetizers (sorry no picture because it was gobbled up too quickly) 2)Grilled cheese salmon (oh yes, the boys grated cheese and placed it on the salmon in the grill so that it all melted into a delicous cheesy dish) 4) Vegetables and mushrooms (which wj says is too normal and unworthy of a picture) 5) Raspberry cordial with actual frozen berries from the freezer (while we waited for the grand finale) 6) And finally, EGGTARTS! Oh my goodness. The egg tarts were so completely fantastic. It tastes even better than the ones you buy from a normal egg tart stall. Kudos to Jason the eggtart prince, now you know what to do if you ever get bored of flying (: And this is everybody with our happy egg tarts (: For some strange reason, keegan doesn't look happy at all. Haha keegs, it's egg tarts! Smile! Okay I'm off for a bathe and some attempted studying afterwards. Guys, you really have to wish me luck because property law is baffling, the notes are nonsensical and I only have 2 more days till London! Despite all my good intentions I highly doubt I will be in the mood to do any studying over Christmas and New Year. So! To make sure I don't fail the test in week one, please somebody make me go study (: Labels: daily doings, food

my carousel story
Yesterday I spoke of carousels; of roundabouts and changes. Today, let me tell you about one of my personal carousels. Exactly a year ago, I woke up feeling all jittery, excited and with a million butterflies in my stomach. It was the first day of my internship stint- and I was the girl with the big dreams. What sort of dreams, you ask. I think this excerpt from my personal statement last year says it all. "Everyone has this moment in their childhood that they will always remember. For some, it might have taken place on top of their first rollercoaster ride. For others, it might have been at their first Macdonalds birthday party. For me, that moment took place, of all places: In my Kindergarten classroom. I can still picture the scene clearly. There we were, all seated prim and proper, when the teacher posed us a question: What do you want to be when you grow up? The answers were pretty interesting. We had a handful of policemen, doctors and astronuats. Then it was my turn, so I stood out proudly and said: I want to be a writer (the term "journalist" wasn't in my vocabulary back then). Someone sniggered. A boy named Patrick, I think. Whoever it was, I shot him a look that can be summarised into four words: Wait for my byline." So the dream to become a journalist wasn't just a quick, summer fling with the profession. It was a dream I clinged on to as a kid, and one that stayed with me all the way till the start of this year. With that dream in mind, I stepped into the sph building- exactly a year ago- and breathed in the fresh smell of print. At the same time, I stepped onto one of my own personal carousels and went on a ride of my life. Just like I knew I would. In case you're wondering, this post isn't going to be reflection of my six-month stint in sph. If I had wanted it to be merely that, I would have referred you to this post HERE, which I wrote a few days after my internship ended. Instead I want to show you the spot where I stepped onto the carousel, and the spot I landed at after the ride was over. It wasn't the same spot. The view from the end point was completely different from the view at the start. What changed? Maybe it was the giddy, glittering lights along the ride that changed my perspective on everything. But first, a sneak peek into the glittering lights: This was my carousel story. I remember the day I got my namecard, I burst into tears. I remember the long tuesday lunches.
Apart from that, I remember more things. I remember the thrill of the chase of a story. I remember the satisfaction of seeing your byline in the papers. I remember the giddy high of getting a good quote or tracking someone elusive down. Yet I remember the late nights and the feeling of desperation as you wipe your sweat and try to look as pleasant as possible to get the numbers for your streetpoll. I remember the friends I made. Permanent staff, editors and interns alike. I remember our kfc lunches. I remember our gossip coffee breaks. I remember our nicknames for the bosses. I remember our april fools' day jokes. I remember staying in the office till past midnight on saturdays. I remember working on public holidays. I remember the birthday cake you guys got me. I remember the farewell you guys threw for me when I ended my internship. I remember endless laughter and fun. But most of all, I remember making a fantastic bunch of friends on the ride of my life. For that, thank you. (Yes, I know you kaypoh journalists are reading this especially if it is a slow week and your name didn't appear too many times on the sked)
Yet despite all the glittering lights, I decided to step off this carousel and embark on another. I turned down the sph scholarship, and with it, a long-cherished dream of mine. Why, is a question I keep asking myself, even till now. But I think I know the answer. Dreams can change after all. And while a part of me still clings on to that childhood dream of mine, the other part of me refuses to pigeonhole myself into a dream so early. Why stay on this carousel when there are other rides to choose from? Not that this carousel isn't good, but wouldn't it be better to have a taste of all the other rides before deciding which is the ride you want to take on and on again, forever? After all, all that glitters is not gold. As I step off this carousel ride, the spot is different. It is not the same spot I stood a year ago with all my big dreams and ideals. Instead, the spot now faces the ferris wheel, the rollercoaster and the viking ship, each with its own shiny lights beckoning out to me. I may end up on one of those rides forever- or not. Hold your horses little carousel ride, for all you know, I may be back. Last week, someone googled "sph scholarship" and got onto this page of my blog. I guess it's that time of the year again. A new batch of dreamers wanting to gain admission to the ride. New people will step onto their own personal carousels. Wherever it may take you, just know that you're in for a ride of your lives.
happy surprises
happy surprise #1: I got a package in the mail today. Thank you book boy (:
On a completely different note, I'm in the midst of prettifying my desktop and cannot make up my mind which is nicer. Comments, anyone? (: ![]() ![]() Labels: food, thank-yous

round and round the roundabout
You know there are those days where everything falls into place and you just feel so incredibly happy and contented? Today was one of those days. There's no need for anything grand or amazing to happen, you're just contented. Contented to be wherever you are, doing whatever you're doing.
Yes, today was one of those days. Woke up to the usual mad scramble to get dressed as Keegan hurried us to get ready and run for the bus. Needn't have rushed so much since wenjie was still changing when we went over to his room. I'm starting to enjoy this strange mix of dynamics amongst my whitefields homies. On one hand, you have Keegan who is always on the ball, on the rush, and frantically knocking on our doors to hurry us. On the other hand, you have Wenjie (the commando, no less) telling everyone to chill, relax, and would we like some breakfast even though we're late? It's a lovely mix of dynamics that keeps me amused daily. Anyway, we headed down to Brimingham- the second largest city in UK. As usual, when it comes to going out with boys, the first stop is nearly always food. Wenjie and I brought the whole bunch of them to the eating place we went to the last time. As we remembered, the prices were cheap and the portions were huge. If I didn't remember wrongly, ching type the name of this place into his GPS the last time we were there... ![]() Oh food! Haha the only plate cut off from the shot was Jason's ma po tofu (Sorry I am not tall enough). Wj and keith as usual had a second serving of food. I had hor fun which reminds me so much of the hor fun at home. Ahhhh. The boys laughed at me when I asked the waitress if the hor fun was the "wet wet one". Well, I had to make sure! ![]() This is everybody full and satisfied after a delicious meal (: We spent the rest of the day shopping and walking around, since we decided to visit the German Christmas Market only at night. It was quite funny how the biggest spenders were the guys, while me and tracy barely brought anything. The guys bought things from jackets, to bags, to metal aeroplanes to furry room slippers. True SNAGs indeed, my shopaholic boys (: I remember, in the midst of walking around, it suddenly struck me that this feels very much like a holiday. Like taking the sights of a new country while on tour. Breathing in the crisp air and smiling to myself, I thought, holidays for most people are short and sweet. But for us, everyday in the UK feels like an adventure. We're the lucky ones. Went on a earmuff-hunt because my poor ears have been freezing away these days. Here's the shot of the really cheap (99p!) one we found at Sports World. Alas, I didn't get it because it looked cheap and plasticky from the top. But we did get a very cute picture with it (: Dragged everybody to Accessorize after rejecting the 99p earmuff. I knew I could find a really cute one there, and I did (: Oh my goodness, I love the earmuff I found. It's colourful stripes on white fluff and it looks so cheery and cute. But it costs an ungodly sum of 15 pounds and yours truly has no heart to buy it (oh boxing day sales come quick!). Nevertheless, I had to take pictures with it again. In case you don't realise it yet, the pictures all show my whitefields homies shouting into my ear ![]() Not trying to eat me up. After all, seven ![]() Before we knew it, it was night-time and time for the much-awaited Christmas Market! Here's a shot of the market from afar. ![]() Oooooh. CHRISTMAS MARKET! This is the start of the market. It's a bar, actually. Hahaha Ching just told me on msn, don't you find it funny that the entire market starts and ends with a bar? ;) ![]() First foodie pit-stop! The three of them shared some sinful chocolate thing which the Whitefields homies abstained from (why eat chocolate when we can get them from the advent calendars at wf8!) There were a lot of pretty shops in the Christmas markte like this one with all the decorated sweet yummy things... ![]() and oh my goodness, the cutest snowman chocolates ever! Random shot of the market ![]() As always, silly pictures are a must. Look at our hats :D ![]() Haha we had our second foodie pitstop. Some fried mushrooms with potatoes. The three boys had a plate of food each while the girls (tracy, me and keegan hahahaa) shared a plate of food. Haha okay I'm kidding Keegan (: But oh, the food was good (: We ate at one of the standing tables in the market. Very exciting (: ![]() Third foodie pitstop came immediately after the second, as the three boys attacked the German sausages cooked on this mega huge pan. ![]() We walked around some more and saw really amazing things like multi-coloured popcorn! Haha I'm so amused by that. Look at the blue popcorn on the left. ![]() Third foodie pitstop, Keegan and I shared a cheese gouda thing while the rest went to the nearby stall to eat some chocolate cream things. Mmmm the cheese gouda was not bad, but the mushrooms and potatoes earlier was much better. ![]() This carousel brought too many different thoughts to my mind as I jostled closer to take a picture of it. Roundabout? 360 degrees turn? New dreams, new thoughts, new ambitions? White horses? Knight in shining armour? Glittery lights? Confusion? New life? Topsy-turvy? Thrill? Childhood? Laughter? Joy? We decided to walk over to MacDonald's to hang out and chat before heading back home. On the way there, the Whitefields homies had the most hilarious conversation which I am too lazy to type and shall quote directly from Keegan's blog post. Just know that the "jaywalk" joke was mine. I like it (: "On the way there, Sam, WJ, and I were coming up with Chinese names for variousmmfood outlets, jaywalking, as well as Shakespeare. Or at least, WJ was giving us the Chinese words for direct translations. So Starbucks became (Xing Qian), jaywalking became (Jie Lun Zhou Lu), Shakespeare became (Yao Mao) etc... Extremely side-splitting, especially with some of the more esoteric translations." At MacDonald's, keegan tried to seduce everyone by licking his lips. Hahaha (: So this more or less summed up the lovely daytrip to birmingham which I enjoyed a lot. Spoils of the day only included: Chilli sauce (for stir-frys, yes I am getting housewifely it is distrubing), sneakers (for only 5pounds I am an amazing bargain hunter! The sneakers are cute, but I think they are male sneakers but who cares :D ), and another binder file for my new module next term (yes I am getting muggerish too, how disturbing). Enjoyed myself a lot today (: Thank you for everyone who made it a great day. Came home to lovely orange juice, a lovely bubble bath and started adding cute gadgets to Okay off to watch GG. I am spending my day (and night) off very very well indeed. Goodnight. Labels: daily doings, food, outing, photos
sugar and spice and everything nice
0248 hours and the entire essay is done (: Okay I actually finished it about an hour ago but I happily took a spontaneous bath to reward myself before sitting down to cut the 300-odd words I had to cut. And it has been cut! Not without some lip gnawing pain on my part, but oh, such is life. Dinner at Whitefields 8 today was hilarious. Wenjie, Keith and Jason attempted to make a tomyum steamboat. It looked really yummy, but it was so spicy that everyone was downing glasses of water with every mouthful.
Our teh tarik in glasses that make them look like milk. Haha but milk is good after a beyond-spicy dinner (: ![]() The rest of the night was spent telling cold jokes and simply enjoying each other's company. Came back home at 10 to do the essay (and yes, may I repeat that it is done! hooray!) I think this post completely lacks any form of coherence or intelligence but excuse me, it is three am now. Haha I'm off to bed because tomorrow morning we are going to the Birmingham German Christmas Market! Oh and I'll leave you with this hilarious exchange. I think Celine was saying a while ago that london won't know what hit them when the terror (I think she meant glam) twins descend upon them. Well, that's if we even decide where to go in the first place. We are so, so fickle. But then again, maybe fickleness is a glam trait (: HanErn And you'll see me waiting for you on the corner of the street. says: OH MY GOD WAIT YOU'RE A CHINABLACK. food for thought
"I think I know what the problem is now. With you, there's no spontaneity. No sudden surprises, skipping of the heartbeat, or doing things without a care in the world. Everything must be thought out, planned to a nicety. It gets boring, predictable. So when someone else with a little more spontaneity comes along, the world turns topsy-turvy. Like a parched child who hasn't drank water for days, she drinks up greedily. So you see, this isn't at all like the cliche. It's not me, really. It's you." Labels: food for thought, musings

the roll of film that never ends
Only today I realised that I have bruises over my knees and ankles from the excited fall that day. Keegan says I can show off my collection of purples bruises to everyone after the holidays. Haha if the bruises last that long, I would get worried. But I currently have a cute purple-pink one on my right ankle. You know, I've always wanted a tattoo on my ankle (:
Didn't do much today except go for a swim in the morning with my two boys again. 50 laps today. Apart from that, finished the second batch of cards (thank you keegs for staying in my room and writing addresses for me) and we all sent our cards out. They should be making their way and flapping their wings towards you now... if you're lucky ;) Hahaha. Anyway the campus is getting quiet. I'm missing the usual Remember our very first WIG? Picnic at the Botanical Gardens. Thank you to everyone who came, it was lovely putting a face to the names in the Warwick Freshers' group (: ![]() Then there were a couple of other WIGs at vivo, and sleepover but alas, no pictures. Here's the one at my family chalet (: ![]() Not forgetting, the Sentosa orientation! Haha I remember the seniors said it was for us to get to know each other and we chuckled. We already did know each other! ![]() Chloeeee. Who deserves a picture on her own for being the one who crapped with me on msn almost daily in Singapore. Yes, we are bored people with no lives. (We still crap on msn even now)
We had our And this is the very first picture I took on the Warwick campus! Looking back, I think we've all come a long way. From mere strangers, to polite acquaintances online and at the WIGS, and finally to the good friends we all are now. I'm glad to be at Warwick. Now hurry come back guys! You're all sorely missed! privacy no more
so apparently the Dad reads this blog even though I expressly told my parents they weren't supposed to. i'm disappointed and upset. i don't even know what to write anymore.
don't we all love clotted cream?
Oh hello. It is 0219 hours and I have finally finished my essay draft. Just need to read up some cases and journals to see if I've anything else to add to the content, then it's time to bang out the essay and bid mels goodbye for the holidays. Sweet (:
I'm currently having a hilariously bimbotic and confessional chat conversation with celine (yes even though it is her exams next week, go study girl!). Apparently it is a cardinal sin to hit on your best friend's brother. Mmmmmm. Haha, no I have not sinned. That was just a random comment :D Oh and Celine says, pretend it never happened. Okay, that's the best advice I've heard so far. Haha I adore the return of cryptic lines. Oh yes, I'm also having a really stupid conversation with chloe about setting up an armpithairdressing salon where services like trimming, treatment, dye-ing and highlighting are provided for guys. Yep, all these in the wee hours of the morning. I really should learn the concept of beauty sleep. Anyway, wenjie keegan keith and I headed down to Time for Tea this morning. Oh boy, the food was so good. We ordered so much that the table was too small for our food. The list goes: Two sets of scones with tea (each person one scone), ham melt for me (which i ended up dumping onto keegan when I couldn't finish, pinto for keegan, bagel for keith, tuna melt for wenjie and a FULL english breakfast shared by keith and wj. Haha as you can see, the table is very very full. The food (after scones plates were cleared and my food was not in the shot!) ![]() plus my melt, yum yum (: ![]() I think it's quite fun how we're going around eating and spending the money we have saved from not travelling back to Singapore and not going on holiday. Haha and quite fun how we keep singing songs to stay warm. We sang throughout the long wait at the bus-stop on the way back from Kennilworth. Wj and I like rockish songs that involve bopping of heads. Keegs, you better hurry learn them soon (: No other meals for the day (because we were all so full) except chocolate cake at wj's. Haha it's cake from since shenting's birthday so I hope we are all still healthy and well tomorrow. We had some self-reflection talk during cake and I've realised that I'm really glad to be here in Warwick. Glad I made the right choice and thankful for all I have here (: I like this picture a lot. It seems to tell me a story. I just haven't figured out what, exactly, yet. It's 0309 hours now. Bedtime. Swimming at 9am tomorrow to burn off our sinful clotted cream. Goodnight. diamond in the rough
Remember last night when I said I was going off to do my essay after relaxing and slacking for so long? I lied. Ended up at wenjie's place for past-midnight, extremely sinful but also extremely delicious lemon pie that Josh (Mallika's boyfriend) baked. Oh my goodness, it was so good because he baked it three times to achieve the effect of three separate and distinct layers. It's hard to explain but I took this shot with my (lousy) camera phone to show you the layers.
I've decided there's something decidedly sexy about a guy who can cook (no, I am not hitting on wenjie the chef, I am just making a random remark). Girls, I think you know what I mean. This is something like the "veins in hands" attractiveness. You can't explain it, but it's nice. I remember the last interview I conducted for my Mind Your Body column. It was with this really cool doctor. She advised me to marry a man who had studied overseas because they can cook (haha she obviously has not seen the likes of keegan and microwave-kings) and declared that there is nothing more blissful than coming home to a husband who cooks for you. Haha, I think I'm starting to see her point. (No I really am not hitting on wenjie. These whimsical thoughts are sparked off by Mallika's look of happiness when she tucked into the pie Josh baked) After polishing off the delicious lemon pie, keegan and I trooped off to wenjie's room and the three of us had another night of singing angsty rock-ish songs. I've decided to drop out of school and become a rockstar! Haha. Again, there's also something decidedly sexy about a guy who can sing... (No I'm not hitting on wj although he sings pretty well) Aye, my dad is a fantastic singer (: (I need to stop putting disclaimers everywhere, they are disrupting my mojo.) Today the three of us went to Coventry to meet Keith for dinner at the Noodle Bar(: Wenjie amazed us all with his bottomless pit of an appetite. Also managed to nip one silly rumour in the bud during the course of dinner. A good night's work done (: Oh yes, Happy Birthday Celine (: I'm listening to Nickleback's Gotta Be Somebody on repeat. I'm hooked (: Labels: daily doings, food, musings

all that sparkles
I'm sitting here munching on grapes and sipping orange juice as I type this post. I've never felt so relaxed, radiant and happy (for the past few days at least) and oh boy, is this feeling good or what. I just took an hour long
Yes folks, enjoy the holidays. ![]() Anyway, today was more of a klutz-filled day than anything else. Woke up in the morning with the full intention of going to the library to study with all my books and laptop. But alas, I spent ages searching for my laptop cover and could not find it. Imagine, how can anything be lost in a room so tiny! Haha in the end, I sat down and put my detective mind to work (hur hur) and figured it must have fallen behind the cupboard (oh you know the place behind drawers!). Removed a drawer and tadah, I found the cover... alongside many pairs of old, lost and forgotten socks from predecessors of the room. Gross. Rushed all the way to the library only to realise that I've forgetten to bring my student card needed to enter the library. Felt extremely silly as I tried to charm complete strangers into returning my book for me. But hooray for helpful, kind souls out there (: Decided to study at the Arts Centre for a while. Lovely ambience, if not for the noisy kids and me forgetting my ipod. Coffee didn't match up to Starbucks (duh) but hey, beggars can't be choosers. Since we have no Starbucks on campus, we just have to make do. Tescos with the two boys shortly afterwards and splurged on oh, prawns and salmon and meat and vegetables and fruits. Yum. I'm even in the holiday spending mood. Cooked my favourite egg with minced meat, and salmon with mushrooms and onions for lunch. More klutziness as I fell down while happily skipping up the stairs to get cutlery. Now the ankle's swelling! Damages this holidays continue... But nevermind, I cheered myself up by whiling my time away doing frivalous things online until bath time. Goodness, I sure know how to enjoy the holidays. Labels: daily doings, musings

another boring day in our little holiday
you know what i really want to do right now? i want to run a hot bubble bath, soak myself in and read a book until the water turns cold.
So maybe I should get some bubble bath foam things at Tescos tomorrow after all. Since there is not a soul around, might as well make use of the extremely clean, free and unused bath. Same applies for the kitchen. Maybe it's time to start Anyway, today wasn't too productive study-wise. Woke up in the morning and went to the gym with whenjee and keegs. Swam after that and did 60 laps (: Haha I think the two boys amazed themselves with the number of laps they can do... with the right amount of peer pressure. So maybe companionship does help you break certain limits after all. Funny how within a day, I have grown accustomed to the british style of things in the girls' locker room. So accustomed that I have now unbashedly become one of them and can dry myself/ change in and out of my clothes in front of everyone. Maybe this is what they call a culture change. I didn't think I would feel comfortable adapting so quickly. I wonder how I would act when I go back into the Singapore's locker rooms. Had lunch at wf8 and it was a nice, simple and yummy meal. wj did the vegetables while i made the omelette. While keegs devoured the cake. HAHAHA. wj the chef ![]() keegs laughing away (i like this shot, it looks very candid) ![]() our humble yet delicious lunch
If only. Oh the list of damaged things this holidays continue: Necklace, handphone, earring (i have lost one) and head (when I knocked my head yesterday, it still hurts). Holidays are evil, aren't day? Goodnight world. Keegs, please wake me up in time to return my library books tomorrow. Thank you. Labels: daily doings
sunnydipping days
I think I forgot to mention that my dear phone is, unfortunately, fried.
Well not fried fried, as in literally. Nor is it a complete gone-case. I just don't seem to be able to receive calls ninety percent of the time. And as for messages, I get them about twelve hours later. So maybe the trip down toilet bowl didn't bode too well with the phone. Ah well. List of damaged things this holidays now stands: Necklace, handphone. I wonder what's next. Anyway the rest of the day (after I blogged the previous blogpost) went brilliantly well. I went for a swim by myself and it felt good. Just like in Singapore when I swam to clear my thoughts out properly. Was aiming for 60 laps but at 50, the sun began to set. It was beautiful. So I stopped, looked through the glass panel (while in the pool, the view is excellent) and watched the sun dip beneath the horizon. Got up and showered, banged my head really hard on the locker door and killed a couple of million brain cells (and there is now a bump), and laughed at the sillyness of the shower rooms. In between two cubicles there is a big shiny silver pipe on top, so shiny it acts like a mirror. And you've guessed it: You can see everything going on in the adjacent cubicle. hahaha, ingeniously stupid. Just like how we have both a burning hot tap and a freezing cold tap in every sink. Anyway, whenjee came back today! In celebration we had dinner at wf8. Went over and watched a bit of Madagascar 2 and helped with the cooking preparations. We had an Indian dinner and it was good (: ![]() Malikka the chef! :D ![]() haha this is keegan with a very clean plate. we had to cheer him on to finish his food. Hilarious. ![]() After dinner activity: Put a piece of chocolate on your forehead and try to move it to your mouth... So dinner was fun. very homely and cheery, but alas, the people will all be gone soon. Soon it will just be me, whenjee and keeks. But no worries, I think we entertained ourselves pretty well. We spent the rest of the night in whenjee's room singing emo songs from his laptop. Then there's gymming and swimming at 9am tomorrow morning. We can keep ourselves occupied after all... Need to find the time to study admist all the activity. Labels: daily doings

silence is golden
okay, to be honest. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this whole solitude thing.
last night Keegan came over and we studied in my room till really late. It was pretty productive, maybe because you tend to study hard when you know someone else is in the same boat as you. Mutual encouragement? I don't know. But it's good we don't end up chatting away and distract each other. Haha I like my new study buddy. We should do it more often keeks. (haha whenjee was used that on msn and I thought it sounded cute) woke up this morning and decided to go on a tour of the libray alone. paid my fines (oh five pounds! woe is me), borrowed another book and a dvd (An American in Paris) and started exploring all the levels of the library to see where would be a good place to call my own. the fourth level is suddenly surprisingly empty and spacious, and would be a good choice except I remember feeling stuffy the last time I was there. I crossed the bridge to the silent study area and the seats facing the windows looked good. It's exactly like the nj library style. Except the tables are too small of course. I like big spaces (for studying purposes at least, I prefer small rooms because they are warmer). haha i don't seem to be able to make up my mind. i felt pretty happy on my walk back. alone, with only the sound of my boots cutting into my thoughts. i inhaled the cold, crisp air and decided that i normally can't appreciate so much around me because (a) i will either be walking with someone and engaging in mindless, small talk, or (b) I could be alone, but the campus would be buzzing and busy and I wouldn't be able to appreciate the soft silence of a cold, crisp morning anyway. not that i don't love all of you and your company. i do. come back quick. am currently wrestling with myself the idea of going for a swim. yes, right now. i miss swimming. but i've refrained from it during school term because i happen to like quiet pools (that was why i always swam late at night on weekdays in singapore). i want to go swimming but keeks does make sense when he reminded me that i have books to finish reading by tomorrow 11am, and that tonight from 730pm, we are going to be busy cooking and dinnering (whenjee is coming back!) and watching the movie. i'm in a bit of a dillemma here. but ok. leave me to think about it. if this post sounds silly in any way, i'm sorry. i banged it out in five minutes. good afternoon. The entire house is so quiet you can hear a pin drop.
Blasting my itunes didn't help. Reading a chick lit didnt help. Going around switching on every single light in the house didn't help either. Argh. I don't know what to say :( This is quite lonely/scary/miserable.

as everybody starts leaving on their jet planes...
Sorry I haven't blogged properly for a while. As with murphy's law, silly whitefields internet had to break down on a 1) weekend, and 2) day where everyone is gone from Warwick and yours truly here really needed the internet as an outlet to communicate with the world at large. Gah. Oh well, nevermind. At least the internet's working now (:
The holidays have been rather boring so far. Warwick's getting more and more silent as everyone packs up and leave. I go home to a dark flat (because there is no one around to turn on the lights the sky turns dark), there is barely a hint of the usual noise and camaraderie in the kitchen or anywhere in the house. Gah, the silence is killing me. Anyway the past two days have been spent studying/lazing away/writing cards. I went to Costa on Sunday to study. It's a nice mugging place, reminiscent of starbucks/coffeebean study days but the coffee simply cannot cannot match up to the heavenly toffeenut latte.
Chicken which had to be forced down to finish. The former smells really darn good (I have a habit of Ok look I am whining again. Shall stop here and may the next post be a happy hyper one. Goodbye for now. Enjoy Singapore if you're back home. Labels: daily doings

things i do when i am bored of studying
the end of fall term
I originally had a lot of things to say here. A lot of emotions about the end of term that I wanted to capture, yet strangely enough, they are so varied, fleeting and swirling that I cannot seem to capture them.
I wanted to say that I'm gleeful that term has ended- only because well, everyone loves holidays. I was grinning away madly when our last lecture ended at six. In fact, less than a quarter of the lecture hall was filled, because the lecturer is rather bad and to quote a seminar classmate, Why would I want my last memory of term to be of a fat, bumbling, old man shouting at us in lecture? But I wanted that final gleeful moment when we are dimissed from our last lecture, and so I went. And yes, that gleeful delight was very nice indeed. I also wanted to say that I'm sad- because I'm not going home. Suddenly everyone is packing and going back to Singapore already. Homesickness will be dispelled as everyone gets reunited with family, friends and food. Yet I still have another seven months to go before my homesickness is dispelled. I may enjoy it here, a lot, but there is, nevertheless, an aching to go home. I wanted to say I'm pensive- because school term has whizzed by so fast. I know I will miss Warwick when the time for graduation comes. In such a short amount of time I have come to love this place, so I want to treasure every minute. I don't want the terms to just rush by without me stopping to savour it. I wanted to say I'm missing people already. Yes, that's fast, and some are not even gone. But admist all the hugs to the Singapore-bound people, the exchange of cards and merry christmases, I had the sudden realisation that these are the people whose company I have come to enjoy and will miss for the next month. Yes that includes you who I spent almost the whole of yesterday with, and you and you, who always crash my room and I crash both of yours, and yes you moot partner, who I just had dinner with (:

delightful yesterday
As promised, I am here to update about my extremely delightful yesterday.
I can't put a finger to it, really, but I was just in quite high spirits yesterday. I was laughing, giggling, smiling and generally acting slightly tipsy. Maybe it was the second last day of school, or maybe it was something else. But for the first time here, I actually felt truly... happy. The day started off with an incredibly entertaining and funny lecture. The lecturer played Dido's music on youtube, and showed us a bbc clip of gordon brown speaking about mortgage loans at the same time. The effect was hilarious. Sounded like a scene out of a funny movie where they put on inspirational (and bimbotic) music while someone speaks passionately. Ok I think it does not sound funny when I type it out like that at all but you just had to be there. I was grinning madly. And then the rather festive end of lecture, with the lecturer giving out bottles of wine as prizes, and him wishing us a happy christmas holidays (while bimbotic music plays in the background). It just put this wide, wide smile on my face. And the day only got better. Had made plans to go for tea with the accidental friend at Kennilworth. As we sat at the piazza waiting for the bus to arrive, I suddenly felt glad I chose to came to Warwick. It was a nice cold weather (I was snug in my scarf, and therefore "nice" is used), there was a band playing Christmas songs in the open, there was a nice bustle of people walking around and the wind was blowing.. This is an experience I will never get in Singapore, or in any of the non-campusish, building-like schools in cities like London. I really do love being in Warwick. As if the scene at the piazza wasn't pretty and picturesque already, the walk from the Kennilworth bus-stop to Tea for Time is so utterly beautiful. Like out of an Enid Blyton storybook. So pretty you feel like just dancing in the open, then lying on the grass to take in the serene sight laid before you. ![]() After the delightful walk, we finally reached this pretty tea place that I keep hearing about, Time for Tea. ![]() The place certainly lived up to its reputation. It was quaint, cosy and pretty, with lovely decorations to make you feel like you're in a lovely warm home with a fireplace for toasting mashmallows. And the tea and scones were good too. Oh heavenly heavenly clotted cream. Sinful. But sinful things always taste oh so good. I realised I've been raving about the ambience and the food and completely missing something equally, or actually more so, important. I had great company for my little tea excursion of course. We talked about loads of things. About family, about mothers, about passion for schoolwork and everything else under the sun. I enjoyed the conversation and the laughter. Maybe that's what made the entire trip such an enjoyable one. Maybe the accidental friend wasn't quite such an accident after all. The way back was just as picturesque as the walk there. We sat on a bench (yes, in the cold) overlooking the scenery so that I could take more photos. Haha some bitch (literally, a dog) got someone's balls. I know I'm not supposed to laugh but it really is quite funny. Ladies, aren't you glad to be female? The bus took terribly long to arrive. About forty minutes or so. We were freezing our toes off because it was already past four and getting dark. But maybe our bodies use a defence mechanism to react to the cold: laughter. I can't remember the full details, but I just remember laughing like I'm tipsy while waiting for the bus. I think it was when we pretended to walk away so that the bus would come. And pretended to rewind and talk about the everything we talked about half an hour ago. It is such a childish, silly, self-amusing thing to do that I can't help smiling now as I type this (: Finally got back to campus and we went for our last dance session of the term. It was quite fun, we finished the dance we've been learning all term. Yay. Now we can just blast the music and dance along (: Night was just as good as the entire day. Chloe came to while her time away while her laundry dries. We happily kinder-buenoed our time away (: After she left, I happily took out my collection of colour pens and started writing my Christmas cards. Haha the accidental friend came at like one am in the morning with the great big intention of keeping me awake for me to write my cards but look how that turned out. Ended up giggling like a couple of tipsy children and throwing things at each other and I now have purple-inked "tatoos" all over my entire right arm and right ankle. We are such kids, I swear. But what a nice end to a perfectly nice day (: That's it for the very delightful yesterday. Apologies for the long and boring (because gushings how pretty everything is really doesn't appeal to mass audiences, I know) post, but I really wanted to capture this feeling and write everything down before it fleets aways. I hope it never does though. Goodnight. Labels: daily doings, musings, outing, photos

random things off the top of my head
Haha.
I'm sitting here in my room listening to the drunken sounds of rootes people singing aerosmith's I don't wanna miss a thing at the top of their lungs, opposite my window. It's quite funny. And it's quite a nice song. If my throat wasn't hurting so badly, I would sing along as well. Lala-ing to myself offtuneishly in my room. Something I used to do whenever both my parents went out. Funny how I used to cherish alone time in my room in Singapore so much, and now I get all the alone time in the world. Hum. Speaking of songs, in an amazing coincidence, two different people have come to me separately over the past two days to tell me that they are extremely addicted to the clay aiken song on my blog, and begged to be sent the song. Bemused (nothing is going on, right mich?), I sent them the song and went back to listen to it again. When you say you love me, do you mean it? Baby when you hold me, do you feel it? Should I believe the magic in your eyes; I would wait until the end of time Are you really sincere, or is this just something that you do? I remember how I fell in love with that song when I was in my clay aiken fanatic days. I always thought it was a very modern-dancable song. Maybe because the eight beats in the chorus are very defined. Anyway I haven't been out much these couple of days because of the cold and my throat. Had plenty of lovely visitors though. Chloe dropped by yesterday. Keegan came by today as well, and we had a hilarious pink elephant and danger zone conversation. Then mich came with my mashmallows (thank you dear!) and we have created more hilarious, laughter-inducing inside jokes at the whitefields corridor/stairs. Then the accidental friend came and yay, I have my first christmas present (: Okay gossip girl time. I have not touched my work today. Oh the lovely holiday mood! Now all I need is for my throat to recover and life would be purrfect. Labels: daily doings, musings, thank-yous

last monday
My throat still hurts like crazy. I think it's especially worse in the mornings and late at night. It hurts to swallow. It hurts to talk. Actually, it hurts when I don't do anything at all. Oh boy. Being sick stinks.
Skipped Top B because of my throat (sorry bff and jerrick!). Thank you keegan for making sure I didn't go partying in spite of being sick (: Haha anyway apart from the throat, the rest of the day was good. Michelle came over in the morning and afternoon. Chatted, cupnoodled and created the NC club. Oh my goodness, I haven't really laughed so hard in a long time. If you've asked me before what I truly wanted when I'm stressed, I would say I want to have a real good laugh. Standing in the whitefields corridor giggling about our new secret club, now that's what I call a good time (: Thanks mich for the bread and tuna (: Had some alone time in the quiet section of the law library in the evening. Reminded me of the nj library, except that it was crowded, and not my domain. Sigh. Soon, soon. I may be comfortable and have my own special spot after the Christmas holidays are over (: Dinner was good too. Had seafood pasta and ice-cream at the accidental friend's place. Enjoyed it, I get all the bears in the ice-cream :D Thank you for the rug and the lamp. Funnily, the rug is exactly like the one my mum has back home. In our living room. Reminds me of home (: Comforting. This sums up the last monday of the term. How time flies. I don't want year one to end. Labels: daily doings
